The Mooserboden has become one of the gateways to the Hohen Tauern National Park; it is a world-famous excursion destination and starting point for walks along the reservoir, hiking and climbing tours in the surrounding 3000-meter peaks. In winter, the whole region becomes a famous and excellent winter-sports and skiing area, initialised by the Glockner-Kaprun Power Station.
